A mixture of Captan fungicide is used to help protect the newly made graft. Notice that perlite is mounded around the graft and held in place by a portion of a plastic cup. The perlite will help keep humidity around the graft-union as it caluses. Having only one leaf on this scion increase the risk that the graft may fail, but often you have to work with what scions are available. |
