Camellia Grafting Illustration

Camellia sasanqua, because of their root system are the preferred plants for understock (aka rootstock). Locally a sasanqua cultivar named  "Maiden Blush" is typically preferred for understock.  Show here a coping saw is used to decapitate a container-grown sasanqua in preparation for grafting a scion of camellia japonica on to it.
